I was recently selling a home that still had all of the original decor from the fifties, including some green and gold flocked wallpaper. At first, I thought it would be stripped immediately and the new home owner would certainly paint the wall as fast as possible in order to modernize. However, after spending some time in the home, it began to grow on me as a really cool vintage touch that many try to recreate nowadays. As stated by designers like Scot Meacham Wood on 2015 design predictions:
Wallpaper. Wallpaper is still coming back strong – and I think the next year is going to provide even more options and expansions in the wallpaper market. Look for more bold patterns (and those aforementioned saturated colors) on walls (and ceilings and doors!) in the next year.
