We also need 3-5 times more powerful glasses 😦 But some good points here about lighting
We need 3-5 times more light to see as we age. Having the right kind of light, in the right place for the task being done, is critical for all ages, but especially important as we get older.
Since the American population is getting older, i.e. Baby Boomers, designing your retirement home with adequate light should be a top priority. Making sure there is enough light in your closets to tell blue from black and plenty of light on the surfaces where specific tasks are performed, like kitchen counters, bathroom vanity areas, utility rooms, craft rooms and office areas.
The light for almost any area should be controllable with dimmers, so you can have as much, or as little light, as the purpose requires.
